The Mechanical Engineering Department offers postgraduate research programs at the doctoral (PhD), master (MPhil) level, as well as taught postgraduate programs MSc level.
The PhD requires both coursework and independent research, with emphasis placed on the latter. The typical duration is 3 years if the candidate has a Master’s degree and 4 years with a first degree. Given the emphasis on research, PhD applicants are encouraged to browse the pages of the faculty members of the department in order to determine a potential match.
University regulations allow us to accept only student who can show sufficient proficiency in English tests such as TOEFL (Internet-based test score ≥ 80) or IELTS (overall score ≥ 6.0). Students who apply should arrange for official score reports to be sent well before the scores expire.
