Mr. MA Peng Cheng, a current MECH PhD student jointly supervised by Prof. J.K. Kim of the Mechanical Engineering Department and Prof. B.Z. Tang of the Chemical Engineering Department, received the Golden Award for the Best Student Paper Competition in the 5th Asian Australasian Conference on Composite Materials (ACCM-5) which was held in Hong Kong on 27-30 November 2006 for his paper entitled: Functionalization of Multi-walled Carbon Nanotubes using Silane."
