Prof Y K Lee's FYDP group received the 2nd Prize in the 1st iCAN Contest in Xiamen, China
FYDP students of Prof Y K Lee (HOI Man Yiu, CHOW Ka Hei, LEI Kwong Pui, MAK Tsz Wai) got the 2nd Prize in the 1st iCAN Contest (International Contest of Applications in Nano/Micro Technologies), Xiamen, China. The title of the project is "Wireless Landslide Alert System for Slopes in Hong Kong Using MEMS Motion Sensors". This project is in collaboration with the geomechanics expert, Prof Yu-Hsing Wang in the Department of Civil and Enviromental Engineering. The committee members of the iCAN 2009 includes top MEMS reseachers in the world, including the MEMS pioneeer, Dr Kurt E. Petersen (member of US National Academy of Engineering). (January 2010)
